The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (“NCPCR”)is a statutory body set up under the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 (4 of 2006) (“the Act”) to protect, promote and defend child rights in the country.. Chairperson Ms. Shantha Sinha known for her previous involvement in programmes for elimination of child labour through universalisation of elementary education in Andhra Pradesh, spoke to Sangita Mulji and Mehak Sethi about the work of the Commission.
